Michael Kennedy
Creative Director
Michael is the 7th generation living in the quaint village of Granville, Ohio. As children, Michael, his sister and cousins were all inspired by their grandmother, nationally celebrated children’s illustrator Mary Sherwood Wright Jones. She set forth in all her grandchildren a vibrant passion for the arts, self-expression, history and civic duty.
Michael’s life has been inspired by those early values set forth by his grandmother. He studied in the fields of art in design – educated in America and England. His forty year career has been completely dedicated to excellence and innovation in design and marketing in the home accessory field. He and his family are passionate gardeners, collectors, world travelers and community volunteers. Michael proudly serves on the boards of the Columbus Museum of Art’s Collection Committee, The Works – Ohio Center for History, Art and Technology and the Licking County Foundation. He’s led critical local cultural arts initiatives including the preservation of Newark’s Louis Sullivan Bank Building, the formation of Newark’s Midland Theatre Board and endowment and the vision for the Jill Griesse Historic Garden at the Robbins Hunter Museum.
Michael is passionate about ensuring America’s great craft traditions are preserved and their stories told are through Dresden & Company.
